Patrick de Wit

Patrick de Wit is the Managing Director of EMI Twente BV, a contract research organization based in the Netherlands and specialized in membrane technology. He holds a BSc and MSc degree in Chemical Engineering and obtained his PhD from the University of Twente, focusing on inorganic porous hollow fibers within the Twente Membranes group. Under his leadership, EMI Twente supports clients in the development, testing, and optimization of membrane-based separation technologies. A core feature of EMI Twente’s approach is bridging the gap between lab-scale research and real-world implementation, with a strong focus on scalability and future applicability. With over 10 years of experience in membrane development and process design, Patrick has contributed to a wide range of industrial and academic projects. His expertise includes organic solvent nanofiltration, gas separation, and aqueous membrane applications, with a focus on translating innovations into practical, scalable solutions. Additionally, he is an active member of the European Membrane Society and serves on the board of the Dutch Membrane Society.
